Sign up for text notices
Newburgh Free Library offers both email and text messaging (SMS) for notification of requested items that are ready for you to pick up. To add this service to your library account, either include the information on your library card application or speak to staff at the Circulation Desk.
You can receive email notification for
1. Items you have requested that are available for you to pick up – both title(s) and pickup deadline are included
2. Pre-overdue notices to remind you that an item will soon be due – both title and due date are included
3. Overdue and lost notices – both title and due date are included
You will need to provide us with an email address and then check to be sure that we are a “trusted sender” for your email account. Although we ask that you also provide a telephone number, you will not receive notification calls.
Your email address is used only for the above purposes. If you would like to also receive the Library’s newsletter and/or program information by email, please contact the Programming Department at email@example.com or call 563-3619.
Text messaging (SMS) is available for notification of requested items that are ready for you to pick up. You will need a text-enabled cell phone for this service and, depending on your cell phone plan, you may be charged for these messages. At present, if you provide us with both a cell phone number and an email address you will receive the notice in both email & text message formats – we hope to eliminate the duplication in the near future. And we hope to add text message notification for overdues. You will NOT receive a telephone voice notification.
