YAG’s Mission:

The Youth Arts Group (YAG) is a culturally diverse group of high school-age individuals who come together with a determination to create change in our lives and communities.

As members of YAG, we are committed to educating and empowering ourselves and others, developing and practicing our leadership skills, while acting as allies to each other and those seeking social justice. Through engagement in creative action, we are dedicated to the task of influencing other youth to join in our mission to create political, economic, and social change.

We use art to express and promote our ideas and feelings. YAG is a unique group of young leaders who are building a space to explore, learn, and take action.

Our radical art pieces highlight the hopes, journerys, struggles, and dreams of immigrants who are being shattered by a racist and oppressive government. We want to create a space for reflection and conversation, while simultaneously building a bridge to connect with our community through art. We hope that our artwork can reflect the challenges that immigrant families face in their pursuit of a better future for their loved ones.
